In case you didn’t know, Antioxidants are vital to our health and wellness because they effectively absorb the Free Radicals that are responsible both  for aging and for over 200 degenerative diseases (including diabetes, cancer, heart attack, and stroke.) Free Radicals are the result of oxidation (the process by which an apple turns brown when you cut it open.) They  are present in everyone as a normal byproduct of breathing, eating, sleeping, and exercising.

Consuming food rich in antioxidants is the only way to combat excessive amounts of free radicals in our bodies and to prevent “oxidative damage” (the damage caused by free radicals.)

The USDA and Brunswick Laboratories developed a scale for determining how many antioxidants are present in food. This is referred to as an ORAC value, which stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity.

The USDA recommends a minimum intake of 3,000 to 5,000 ORAC daily. People who are exposed to excessive toxins, or engage in frequent excercise need even more.

It turns out that raw, unprocessed  Cocoa is the most antioxidant rich food on the planet, but more than 50%  of that medicinal value is destroyed when the cocoa is processed. As you can read in my previous blogs, I absolutely love and adore the chocolate! It tastes great, I lost weight, it improves my mental acuity, and, my favorite part, NO SUGAR LOWS. The product is unbeatable.

So I mentioned it to quite a few people the first few months that we were in it, and we acutally made some money! (This marked the congruence of several novel experiences for me: First, CHOCOLATE + HEALTHY, are you SERIOUS? Second, an MLM with a low cost of entry. Third, and MLM, and I’m actually making money.)

Then, in October-December I got really busy with doing some business consulting and sales training for some other companies on the Big Island, and also with shutting down Trinity Financial. Meanwhile, I keep getting these little checks for like $75, and I’m thinking, “This is really cool. It’s actually a residual income….and it would be even cooler if they were $7500 checks.”

I know one thing in life: you reap what you sew. So, I’ve decided to sew into this business and start treating it as a business. In the last week I’ve had 2 people join, and I have a realtor franchisor who will be joining next week. The demand is overwhelming!

I’ve also switched from using XPowerBuilder to Chocolate Prospector as the site to market it. This site is equally powerful from a marketing perspective, but has a superior webinar backing it up.

Before I talk about the business side, I will say this: My family and I are still absolutely loving the chocolate. It is such a blessing to be able to eat that sweet treat with a clear conscious, a heightened energy level, and no sugar low – ever!

But what about the BIZNESS? I have to iterate that 3 months ago if you had asked me if I would be joining an MLM company any time soon I would have given you a resounding, emphatic “No!” But healthy chocolate just seemed to sweet to pass up and the product has exceeded our expectations (we joined the company and purchased the product without ever having tasted it.)

After 3 momths, we’ve brought in a total of approximately $2k.  That’s the most revenue I’ve ever brought in in an MLM company. I’ve been trying all kinds of things that cost money that haven’t been very successful (i.e. purchasing leads from various sources, putting adds in classified section of newspaper) and many things that don’t cost any money that have been very successful – such as my warm market, local businesses, and the power of the internet, and our website.

Our residual income is at about $70 a month right now. Is that anything to kill the fatted calf and pop the champagne over – maybe not. But I got into this knowing that it’s not a “get-rich-quick scheme.” All viable sources of residual income take time and energy to develop – anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something! Besides, my ROI beats most any real estate or stock investment I could of made at the same time!!!

The bottom line is this – I can see with the amount of time and energy that I’ve put into this and the results that I’m getting, and with my knowledge of the power of multiplication, that this is a viable business opportunity. And I believe that if I continue to put time and energy into it, I absolutely will end up with a 6 figure annual residual income from it.

Warren Buffet calls his purchases of direct selling businesses “The best investment I ever made.” We all know that Warren is no slouch! This is the business model of the future and has been called the “recession-proof” business.

We got into the business because we’re entrepeneurs, a friend we love and trust was doing it, and it was only $300 so we weren’t betting the family bank. Besides, we love chocolate!

He called a couple of days later. He told me that he had seen that I had checked out the Xocai healthy chocolate website and what did I think about it? My wife had seen his first email and had actually checked out the website. I was ignorant to this, but I was slightly impressed that he could see that we had logged into his site.

We ended up spending about an hour on the phone. He told us his wife, a glorified chocoholic, absolutely loved this chocolate, that a South American man at church said it was the first time that he had tasted good chocolate since he lived in the states, that his Kids loved it. Basically, nobody had tasted it and not liked it. We said, “Okay, John if you’re sure” we are going to love this chocolate, I guess it’s such a small investment we might as well give it whirl.”

We were leaving our home in Hawaii to visit family in California the following week so I had the healthy chocolate delivered to my parents house. When we got there and tasted the chocolate, it is difficult to describe the sense of elation that we had.

“Can you believe that this stuff is healthy?” I kept asking my wife. I felt an immediate increase in energy, and I already knew that the chocolate is free of caffeine, artificial sweeteners, or any other kind of additives. I could not believe the increase in energy, clarity of thought, and just a generally elevated mood I felt over the following week. I found myself actually wanting to work out every single day.

I noticed that the Xocai products had eliminated other cravings I normally have. For example, I used to be unable to pass by a Starbucks or a persone drinking out of a cup with a Starbuck’s logo on it without absolutely craving a Mocha. I noticed, as I walked around Stanford Shopping Center, that I had absolutely no desire for a mocha whatsoever.

We had a large bag of M&M’s on our dresser in our room in California that had been opened on the airplane ride from Hawaii. I noticed that I had passed that bag many, many times a day without even the slightest desire to reach in and grab a few. That is not like me!

Bottom line, I lost my Starbuck’s cravings (which saves me $5 and 400 calories a day,) I lost 4 lbs., I lost my late-afternoon “lows,” and I felt more energetic and full of vitality than I could ever remember. Was I psyching myself out? Was I imagining all this?

The answer came when we ran out of chocolate. All the cravings came back, the late-afternoon low’s came back, the weight came back. I missed the feeling of being on the healthy chocolate!!!

Now that I’m eating it again, all the positive benefits re-appeared. I love my healthy chocolate. Also, because one of my Grandpa’s died too young from a heart-attack and the other one has had several open-heart surgeries, and my dad had high blood pressure for awhile, it makes me feel good to know that I’m taking action to ensure that I’ll be around to enjoy my children and my children’s children for a long time to come!

This is the first reason that I love this business: I love the product and what it has done for me. But that’s not enough to make a business venture successful. In my next blog, I’ll share about why I’m so excited about the business opportunity of Xocai.

First of all, please understand this. My wife and I have already been enormously successful in the business arena, and we give all of the glory to God.  Let me give you some background about me – please don’t take it as bragging…We only brag on God! I just celebrated my 32nd and my wife’s 28th birthday (we share the same birthday – June 10th!) Less than 10 years ago we were living in a tent on my wife’s Hawaiian Homelands, living way below the poverty line, and surviving on very little to eat. That was a very dark andpainfultime in our lives. However, we both recommitted our lives to the God and prioritized our relationships with Him first. Since then the journey, though not unspeckled with many intense hardships and trials, has been amazing, fruitful, fulfilling, and truly miraculous.

We have had great success with real estate investing and developing. We have purchased homes and turned them into rentals, built and sold homes, subdivided land, bought-rehabbed-flipped, and even purchased large apartment buildings and converted them into condos. We also founded Trinity Financial Mortgage Planning Specialists. I became a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist and spend my time educating, training, and mentoring people on the subjects of wealth creation, home ownership, investing, credit scoring, fiscal literacy, biblical success principles, and life coaching.

My wife and I just finished building a beautiful home in Kailua-Kona (you can see photos on Maggie’s My Space,) we own a luxury condo in Waikoloa, and a spacious tropical retreat in Hilo Hawaii. This year, even in the midst of the mortgage market meltdown that we have been experiencing, we’re still on track to earn a six figure income.

Our motivation in prospering is to have more resources to give. We are faithful tithers and givers, we fund an annual scholarship in memory of my brother-in-law Kai who died tragically at the age of 10, we support many ministries, we have been sponsoring children through Compassion International for years. All of our homes and possessions are open to be used for and by our family in Christ.

My excitement about all of our investing and business activities which has earned us hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars over the last years, pales in comparison to my excitement about the business opportunity of Xocai. In my next blog, I will share some my testimony about this incredible Healthy Chocolate
